A while ago, we here at Videojug sent out a short blog survey to over 32,000 active bloggers. This survey encompassed 30 questions, ranging in subject, from questions about the bloggers themselves, to enquiries about the content, inspiration and reception of the blogs they keep. And let us just say now – the response was fantastic!

Many of the bloggers that we contacted found time to answer our questions, and from that we all gained a great insight into the world of blogging as it stands today. There were a number of reasons why people chose to start their blogs – from personal needs, to wanting to help others and create a community, and others even for monetary gain.

We also discovered that blogging is a highly personal thing, as people chose their content not due to recommendations or press releases but judged what they wanted to post predominantly on personal choice.

Some people were able to make a significant amount of money off of their blog (though the majority made none at all), and many bloggers were now starting to use video content much more predominantly in their blogs, especially informative how-to content.

Overall, we’d like to thank everyone who took part in our blog survey. Blogging is certainly becoming a more powerful tool everyday and we’re here to help you get the most out of it.

We’re also now passing on our findings to everyone else, which can be viewed by clicking here.
